A light rail project site has been established at the corner of Surfers Paradise Boulevard and Cypress Avenue.

Gold Coast Rapid Transit Precinct Advisory Group
To meet the challenges of Gold Coast Rapid Transit construction in Surfers Paradise, a Precinct Advisory Group has been formed.
This committee, which comprises representatives from Surfers Paradise Alliance, light rail operators GoldLinQ and local stakeholders, meets fortnightly to establish strategies that will keep Surfers Paradise vibrant during works.
The group has requested GoldLinQ minimise construction impact on Surfers Paradise during the busy Easter period.
Outgoing Division 7 councillor Susie Douglas has also provided $100,000 towards a major committee initiative – the formation of a 100-strong volunteer group of ‘Surfers Paradise Wayfinders’ to greet visitors to the precinct and assist with wayfinding in and around GCRT works.
If you have concerns or questions around GCRT, contact committee members:
- Mike Winlaw (SPA CEO)
- John Romanin (Pit Stop)
- Lynn Maree Travis (Chevron Renaissance)
- Michelle Thompson-Cramp (Centro)
- Tony Tooma (LJ Hooker)
