Bringing the carnival theme to this year's festival celebration is the Australian Street Entertainment Championships. Held over a four day weekend, clowns, mimes, jugglers and dancers will take to stages across Surfers Paradise in a carnival of light and laughter.

This years' event brings together some of the world's best street artists – jugglers, acrobats, magicians, puppeteers and musicians – as they vie for the crowd's attention.

Based around four stages, the three-day event promises a taste of unsung talent, creative innovation and fearlessly energetic performance.

Knowing their audience might wander off at any moment, these artisans of the showbiz coalface put it all on the line to dazzle, intrigue and amaze.

So vote with your feet – or a coin in the hat – as the title of Australia's Street Entertainment Champion goes up for grabs in Surfers Paradise.
